I understand how worried you may be feeling about your child.  Do call me (or email if you prefer) so we can briefly talk about your child, what you are worried about and how I might help. We will then agree the next steps that are right for you and your child.

Sometimes families need time to decide what support feels right for them.  It is really important that you feel comfortable and confident with who ever you choose to work with.

I always invite new families to an initial parent consultation (90 minutes) which is a space for you to talk with me about the things your child is struggling with and what you would like our help with.  I will ask you to fill in a questionnaire(s) to help me understand your child's specific difficulties so I can focus on the things that matter the most to you. Together we will think about what you would like to change (your goals) and agree what kind of therapy will be most helpful for your child.  We will also talk about what you can expect from me and give you some different ideas to help you support your child at home.

I offer weekly therapy sessions for children that run for 50mins. The more I get to know your child the better I can understand and help him/her manage his/her difficulties. Where possible I see children on the same day/time. A predictable session time supports our work.

After 6 weeks (or so) we will review your child’s therapeutic progress, discussing relevant themes and issues arising.   Sessions will continue until we agree that your child is ready to end therapy.

On average, children benefit from a minimum of 20 sessions.  This may be less or more according to what is most helpful for your child.
